Continental and United pilots rally in New York City’s Financial District

New York, N.Y.— United and Continental pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l. (ALPA) will conduct informational picketing today in New York’s financial district to highlight management’s poor performance in advance of the one-year anniversary of the corporate merger close date. There has been little progress with negotiations on the pilots’ joint collective bargaining agreement, one of the keys to completely unlocking the synergies from the transaction, thus allowing the investment community, employees and passengers to truly benefit from the merger. More than 700 Continental and United pilots are expected to participate in the event, joined additionally by pilots from other ALPA carriers and independent pilot unions.

Continental Pilots Statement Regarding One-Year Anniversary of Merger Announcement

The pilots of United Airlines and Continental Airlines, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), are conducting informational picketing on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at locations across the country to mark the one-year anniversary of the announcement of the United/Continental merger. The pilots still do not have a Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement one year later. The pilots of both United and Continental have made huge sacrifices in the last decade to allow the airline to be where they are today—these sacrifices cannot be overlooked or forgotten.
Continental, United Pilots Stand United Against Outsourcing - Tuesday, November 23, 2010
Chicago, Ill., and Houston, Texas--The pilots of United and Continental, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA) will be conducting informational picketing in Newark and Houston, the site of major Continental Airlines hubs, on Nov. 22 and 23 and in Chicago, home of United Airlines, on Dec. 1 to reaffirm their stance against management’s plans to continue and expand the practice of outsourcing flying to other airlines. The airline intends to use the CO code on flights from Continental hubs, using outsourced 70-seat jets, a practice the union believes is in violation of the Continental pilots’ current contract.
